Pretty in Prose

I’ve started Pretty in Prose to be a space in which I can share photos I take as I learn to use my new DSLR camera.  I hope this will be a motivator for me to keep shooting even if the available subject isn’t obviously interesting or “pin-worthy”.  Maybe I’ll even find a way to make it pretty!  In the meantime, I appreciate any constructive criticism you Citizens of the Internet have to offer.  By taking pictures of prosaic life now, I hope to have a much better handle on how to use my camera when the moment really counts!

About the blog name:  The name Pretty in Prose was inspired by a passage from Anne of the Island, the third book in L.M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables series (one of my favorites):

“This has been a dull, prosy day,” yawned Phil, stretching herself idly on the sofa, having previously dispossessed two exceedingly indignant cats.

Anne looked up from Pickwick Papers. Now that spring examinations were over she was treating herself to Dickens.

“It has been a prosy day for us,” she said thoughtfully, “but to some people it has been a wonderful day. Some one has been rapturously happy in it. Perhaps a great deed has been done somewhere today — or a great poem written — or a great man born . . .”

I’ll be creating my first photo post soon.
